South Ellis Beach works finishing
WORKS on repairing a slope above a section of the Captain Cook Highway south of Ellis Beach is set to be completed by the end of next month.
Member for Cook Jason O’brien has welcomed news and said contractors have been working hard since August on the section, which has taken longer than anticipated due to the uncovering of additional damage of the gradient.
“I often commute along this road myself and I know that the public has been very patient with the project,” he said.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of next month weather permitting, and is being delivered under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements, a joint state and federal initiative.
