Bowls bids farewell to Rod
THERE was a big turnout for Rod Parkes’ going away gathering on Saturday afternoon following the usual Jackpot competition.
Rod has been a valued member of the club for many years and his contributions have been many and for that the Club is very grateful.
He has held many roles within the Club and his enthusiasm and commitment to the sport has been motivational to all. Rod has family commitments in northern New South Wales but has promised to return for holidays. In the meantime, he will be greatly missed but we wish him all the best.
The day’s results: Sam Parkes, J Girgenti, and Rod Parkes defeated Dick Pitt, Kiwi and C Maxted 23-20. K Pitt, T Pisot and Doug Pitt defeated N Pacey, L Valentine and B Wolland 15-11.
