RADIO Port Douglas’ Saturday Morning Sports Show will return to the airways on March 17 with a major change in the starting line-up.

Local sports hero Nick “Nicky G” Gibson, has been signed to host the 2012 Saturday Morning Sport Show.

Roy “the Wevs” Weavers and Kerry “Stats” Larsen are returning to the panel of the iconic show and promise another year of in-depth coverage, commentary, analysis and tongue-in-cheek controversy.

Regular guest panellist Sharon “Shaz” Beechey will also be returning to cover netball and Shane “Branchy” Branch will comment on rugby union whenever he is not in ER.

Station owner Michael Gabour said he is very pleased to have Nick in the hot seat this year and is confident that the very popular show will go from strength to strength with the new blood.

Gabour said he has known and worked with Nick for many years and has witnessed some of his more memorable performances both inside and outside the sports arena.
