Soul­ful blues ser­e­nade at the Clink

EX­CEP­TIONAL gui­tarist-singer­song­writer To­bias Mold­en­hauer will thrill au­di­ences at the Clink Theatre later this month.

Mold­en­hauer recorded his solo demo in Ger­many in 2005, and it was so well re­ceived it has taken him on the road to share his pas­sion for mu­sic with peo­ple through­out the world.

He has per­formed in a va­ri­ety of coun­tries, in­clud­ing Ger­many, Swe­den, Italy, the Czech Repub­lic, Samoa and Australia.

Mold­en­hauer’s lat­est re­lease Live at the Red Shed re­ceived air­play across Australia and has toured in­ter­state, and he opened shows for artists such as Neil Mur­ray, Vic­tor Martinez and per­formed with mu­si­cians such as An­gus Diggs (of Jeff Lang, Bob Broz­man and Mia Dyson fame).

His solo per­for­mances fea­ture ef­fect pedal driven acous­tic gui­tar, bot­tle­neck slide res­onator gui­tar, Hawai­ian lap steel gui­tar and ex­plores dif­fer­ent gen­res with their roots in the blues.

Melodic fin­ger-pick­ing in open tun- ings cou­pled with soul­ful and haunt­ing vo­cals, Mold­en­hauer’s ma­te­rial draws on a wide va­ri­ety of in­flu­ences, but all the time putting his own orig­i­nal take on the mu­sic.

Mold­en­hauer will be per­form­ing at the Clink Theatre on March 17, with a 7pm en­try and 7.30pm start.

The sup­port act will be Jeremiah John­son and tick­ets cost $20 or $15 for con­ces­sion hold­ers and are avail­able at the door.
