Cel­e­bra­tion to mark launch of DVD

A NEW in­ter­ac­tive learn­ing re­source DVD ’ontrack’ will of­fi­cially be launched at the Moss­man Gorge next Mon­day.

The DVD is de­signed to help indige­nous men­tors meet the lit­er­acy and nu­mer­acy learn­ing needs within indige­nous com­mu­ni­ties and fea­tures Moss­man’s own big screen ac­tor Leon Burchill.

The re­source will be launched by Roy Gib­son, vice chair­per­son of Ba­manga Bubu Ngadimunku Cor­po­ra­tion, who also fea­tured on the learn­ing work­shop’s DVD.

There will be a spe­cial bar­be­cue cel­e­bra­tion from 4.30pm next Mon­day, March 19, at the Moss­man Gorge to cel­e­brate the launch at the lo­ca­tion it was filmed.

The ontrack DVD com­prises of three sec­tions, the first is the film fea­tur­ing Leon Burchill as men­tor Jimmy Jack, who goes on a jour­ney to mas­ter com­mu­ni­ca­tion to be­gin lead­ing his peo­ple to de­velop new skills.

There other sec­tions in­clude video clips of ex­pe­ri­enced men­tors re­lat­ing their ex­pe­ri­ences and in­for­ma­tion and prac­tice ac­tiv­i­ties.
