Mossman mini-expo to shine

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS - ANGELIQUE PATTERSON

THE Hop To It Mossman Small Business Expo is back again and will showcase goods and services from around the region.

The expo has returned to Mossman after a two-year hiatus and is a good opportunity for small businesses to get out and network.

Organiser Maria Canton, director of Designed To Please Busi- ness Services, said spaces are still available for more businesses to get involved.

“It’s a mini-expo for the locals and we’re inviting locals and small businesses as well as bringing some businesses from Cairns and Mareeba,” she said.

“It’s a way for small businesses to expose themselves to locals and there are no two businesses that are similar or sell similar products and that way everyone gets a fair go.

“We did one in Mossman two years ago and that was our first one and it was so well received we’ve been doing it around small towns - we’ve done a full circle to come back to Mossman and I’m looking forward to it.

“Last time we came we had 11 stalls and this time round we are hoping to have 15, it’ll be great and I’ve invited local small businesses.”

There will be clothing stalls, homewares, jewellery, beauty products and toy stalls and the organisers are currently arranging entertainment to keep the children busy - and the adults as well.

“We will have lucky door prizes and some of the stalls will have prizes and competitions of their own,” Ms Canton said.

“The stalls are allowed to take orders and sell so anyone who wants to buy something on the day are able to.”

It is free entry for the public and for stall holders who want to get involved contact Maria Canton on 0404 065 448, stalls cost only $30 and $5 from that will go towards a local charity, chosen on the day.

The Hop To It Mossman Small Business Expo will be from 10am to 3pm on March 31 at the Mossman Bowls Club.
