Defending the Tin Shed

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

WITH regards to Stephen Lee’s letter in last week’s Gazette, I find it hard to believe that Stephen cannot see that the Combined Club has moved forward in leaps and bounds since the election of the current committee.

I see a well managed business maintaining a healthy cash flow and employing on a regular basis, full and part time staff, who now have some sense of security, in retaining their jobs.

It has come to my attention that a ’few’ people are whingeing and dissatisfied about the implementation of the very things they sought to be done at the last AGM.

Firstly to bring under control a debt level that was out of control 18 months ago and to maintain a forward management plan to give the club the expectation of a bright future.

It has also come to my attention that these few people regard the club management as not being transparent regarding financial management. I am just an ordinary member and I have certainly had no problem in accessing the information that I wanted regarding the club’s finances and status of the club’s activities.
