DOUGLAS Netball is calling for new players, coaches and umpires to join their association before competition starts in April.

Experience or no experience, all you need is passion and commitment towards the game.

“We are looking for all grades, for all teams, juniors, beginners, advanced players - all are welcome,” Douglas Netball president Coral Deen said

“We also urgently need a coach for our under 14s team, the Vipers and some of our other younger teams. Players, parents, or anyone with netball knowledge is encouraged to apply.”

“We desperately need umpires and are holding training weekly on rule discussion, every Tuesday between 5pm and 6pm, at Mossman Indoor centre, which will move to Port Douglas courts after the upcoming school holidays.”

Experience is not essen- tial, Deen said.

“You don’t need to be a good player to be a good umpire, very different skills are required for each,’’ she said.

“We are really looking to support the women in our local community and create a space where women can come and have something for themselves.’’

There are three divisions to suit every skill level
