IT’S not often you get a “You Are Requested To Attend a function with Ita Buttrose and some of the country’s leading marketing gurus but that is what happened to the owner of Daintree Naturals Juss Murray recently.
Ms Murray said the experience of being in a room with 1000 women who were the top movers and shakers in their respective fields last week was a highlight of her life.
“It was absolutely fantastic and I was so fortunate to sit down with Ita Buttrose and get some brilliant advice from her,” Ms Murray said.
“She also told me some wonderful stories of when she worked for Rupert Murdoch and some of them were so funny she had me in tears.
“And the people from Headmark, who are branding and market specialists, and from Myer, were just amazing in telling us how to market our products effectively.
“They really are very slick and I am in no way in their league but it was very worthwhile to ‘get the knowledge’ and I came away feeling very inspired.”
While Ms Murray was away in Sydney she was also nominated for the Telstra business awards.
Formerly known as A Cottage By The Sea, the small Daintree skin care products maker rebranded in 2010 and is reaping the benefits.
All of Daintree Naturals’ products are handmade with proven tried and tested recipes handed down through the generations.
“All our products are hand-crafted and hand-poured using natural ingredients in small batches to ensure quality which is a proven alternative to mass-produced skincare products,” Ms Murray said.
“They are made in our studio in the Daintree rainforest on our World Heritage-listed property.
“The flowers for the products are picked early morning to ensure best quality and then bottled to capture the essence and are stored for up to five years so the oil can mature to create the perfect scent to use in our products.
“Where possible we source local organic honey, cocoa beans to create the coco butter, local coconut oils, tea tree oil, olive oil and we use frangipani oil due to its medicinal benefits and so it has been dubbed the ’Tree of Life’.
“According to ancient Indian beliefs, frangipani has been lauded for centuries for its healing capacity and its use as a love potion and an aphrodisiac.
“But our biggest seller is our natural insect repellent that contains no citronella and is totally safe around children and contains no chemicals.”
