NOTHING fancy about the Battle of the Sports, as five local legends jump on stage to discuss sport in all its glory.

The newest Carnivale event has been developed to give men a break from the fancy, combining the discussion of sport with comedy, hot pies and cold beer.

This is a sports show compeered by local legend Dave “Double Oh” Evans who will attempt to adjudicate a panel of know-it-all experts.

On the panel this year is Dougie “The Scotsman” Baird, Adam “The Fatman” Mcdonald, Sam “Hollywood” Evans and Nick “Hoops” Gibson.

The panel will discuss the “oohs and “ahhs” of each sporting topic and will attempt to bust some myths in the world of sport.

Each panellist will also share the experiences - and opinions - of various sports and their players.

There will be special guests joining the panel and the audience will be invited to join in some competitions for prizes.

The Battle of the Sports will be held at the Port Douglas Carnivale Club, at the Sugar Wharf on Monday May 21. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. The show costs $18, there will be a door prize and a welcome beer included, tickets are available online at www.trybook or at Mocka’s Pies on Grant St.
