Stars of future develop skills
DOUGLAS Junior Netball’s youngest players have completed six weeks of their 10-week program, the Net Set Go program, which is an introduction to netball for players who are eight years old and under.
The girls are taught the basic skills of netball such as concentrating on passing and footwork and to have fun while learning. Each week the players are gaining netball skills in a safe and enjoyable environment with a different prize each week to take home with them.
At the end of the program, all the players will have the opportunity to join a team in the Under 10s, after having learned all the necessary skills to start playing.
Meanwhile, the Junior Marlin trial was held in Mossman recently, and the Marlin Coast president, Heather Mclaren, selected players between 13 to 14 years old to join the Junior Marlin Squad.
