Dawn Ser­vice - Cow Bay me­mo­rial Ser­vice–start­ing at 4.30 am

Dawn Ser­vice – start­ing at 5.30am at the An­zac me­mo­rial in front of CRC Moss­man Of­fices, RSL Moss­man Branch Pres­i­dent Ron Sav­age will make an ad­dress and Dea­con Eric Pitt will say a prayer.

Wreaths will be laid in hon­our of the fallen at the An­zac Me­mo­rial and ex-ser­vice men and woman will march from the Me­mo­rial to the RSL Hall, where break­fast will be served.

At 10.20am the Port Dou­glas Pa­rade will form up op­po­site Port Vil­lage, and march down Macrossan St, to An­zac Park Me­mo­rial for a Com­mem­o­ra­tion Ser­vice.

The pro­ces­sion will be led by ser­vice­men and women from the HMAS Labuan who are at­tend­ing the ser­vices in Moss­man and Port Dou­glas, fol­lowed by Moss­man RSL ex-ser­vice men and women and fam­ily mem­bers march­ing on be­half of their de­ceased loved ones.

They will be fol­lowed by Emer­gency Ser­vices, then the Moss­man State High School, then youth or­gan­i­sa­tions and fi­nally lo­cal pri­mary schools.

Moss­man State High School stu­dents’ band will pro­vide mu­sic for the com­mem­o­ra­tion ser­vice, hymns will be sung along with both the Aus­tralian and New Zealand na­tional an­thems , fol­lowed by read­ing out names of the fallen in WWI, WWII and Viet­nam and ex-ser­vice­men who died in the past year.

The Last Post will be played with a Wreath lay­ing and then ser­vice­men and women and emer­gency ser­vices are in­vited to the CWA hall in Blake St, Port Dou­glas, for morn­ing tea.
