Net­ball sea­son starts to heat up

ROUND three was in full swing with all but one game be­ing very low scor­ing prov­ing all teams are giv­ing it their all and mak­ing each other work for each and ev­ery goal.

In the clos­est game of the night, the Cen­tral Cougars de­feated Rat­tle ’n’ Hum by only four goals, with a final score of 12 to 8. The sec­ond quar­ter of the game only saw two goals recorded, prov­ing both teams gave it their all and left noth­ing to chance.

In the sec­ond A-grade game of the night, the Young Guns took home a good win against the Crocs A. The Guns started off strong with half of their to­tal goals in the first quar­ter. De­spite the Crocs’ best ef­forts to come back the Guns’ de­fence was sim­ply too strong with a final score of 24 to 6.

The Crocs’ B team had a bet­ter per­for­mance with a win over the Ring Ins. Although they started off slow with only two goals in the first half, they picked up their game and took the win with 17 goals to 6.

The Jets and Gun­nars had a very even start hold­ing a draw by half time but the Jets took the game home with a win of 14 to 7. The Gun­nars re­warded Jets shooter, Estha Nulty, for the best player of the match.

Bits & Pieces had the edge over Wolver­ines ev­ery quar­ter tak­ing the game 16 to 8. Wolver­ines’ shooter, Na­dia Zi­gas, and Bits & Pieces’ cen­tre, Hiromi Wall, were awarded best and fairest play­ers.

Lastly, the Rep­tos dom­i­nated their game with a mas­sive 30 to 2 win over the Break­ers. Rep­tos sim­ply got bet­ter with each quar­ter and only al­lowed the Break­ers a dis­ap­point­ing two goals.
