Beaches open for business
FOUR Mile Beach is now officially open for the season, with the removal of the stinger nets.
The beach officially re-opened yesterday in time for the start of the 2012 Carnivale period.
Lifeguard Laurie Green said the rough conditions have swept stingers out of the waters and no there have been no recent reports of stingers in the area.
“We would like to remind people to swim between the red and yellow flags, for their own safety,” he said.
“If anyone suspects they have seen a jellyfish or stinger please report it and if people have any questions they can feel free to ask the lifeguard on duty.”
