Big­gest morn­ing tea ever

MEM­BERS of Moss­man Port Dou­glas branch of the Can­cer Coun­cil Queens­land have been busy set­ting up some tea-riffic Australia’s Big­gest Morn­ing Tea events for later this month.

Branch sec­re­tary Rae­lene Mcdon­ald said the events were a fun way to cel­e­brate gen­eral health and well-be­ing as well as pro­mote the Can­cer Coun­cil.

“We or­gan­ise events around the com­mu­nity to help cre­ate aware­ness and raise money for the Can­cer Coun­cil,” she said.

The Sher­a­ton Mi­rage will host a high tea with en­ter­tain­ment by Out of the Blue and the Port Dou­glas Academy of Per­form­ing Arts, and a fash­ion show by Bar­barella and Swan on Satur­day from 9am-12.30pm in the re­sort ball­room.

Tick­ets are $32pp and can be pur­chased from the Sher­a­ton Mi­rage’s tour desk, Bar­barella and Swan in Port Dou­glas, and Ives Mens­land in Moss­man.

Moss­man Me­mo­rial Bowls Club will host a de­li­cious morn­ing tea on Satur­day, May 26, from 9am-noon for just $3 en­try.

Lo­cals are en­cour­aged to bring along their favourite tea cup, tea towel, apron or tea pot and share their tea sto­ries.

There will be en­ter­tain­ment, cent sales, snap raf­fles and com­mu­nity spirit by the cup full.
