Biggest morning tea ever
MEMBERS of Mossman Port Douglas branch of the Cancer Council Queensland have been busy setting up some tea-riffic Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events for later this month.
Branch secretary Raelene Mcdonald said the events were a fun way to celebrate general health and well-being as well as promote the Cancer Council.
“We organise events around the community to help create awareness and raise money for the Cancer Council,” she said.
The Sheraton Mirage will host a high tea with entertainment by Out of the Blue and the Port Douglas Academy of Performing Arts, and a fashion show by Barbarella and Swan on Saturday from 9am-12.30pm in the resort ballroom.
Tickets are $32pp and can be purchased from the Sheraton Mirage’s tour desk, Barbarella and Swan in Port Douglas, and Ives Mensland in Mossman.
Mossman Memorial Bowls Club will host a delicious morning tea on Saturday, May 26, from 9am-noon for just $3 entry.
Locals are encouraged to bring along their favourite tea cup, tea towel, apron or tea pot and share their tea stories.
There will be entertainment, cent sales, snap raffles and community spirit by the cup full.
