Traffic access altered for sportsfest
WITH the Coral Coast Triathlon being held in Port Douglas this Sunday, Cairns Regional Council is keen to ensure locals clearly understand the changes in traffic conditions.
Participating cyclists, swimmers and runners require the use of public roads and waterways for the event.
While there will be full access into Port Douglas between the race times of 5am and 1pm, some changed traffic conditions for motorists may result in traffic delays, with traffic controllers on duty to direct motorists to diversion routes into town.
Davidson Street, Port Douglas Road and The Captain Cook Highway will be open with changed traffic conditions while The Esplanade, Old Port Road, Garrick and Blake Streets will all be closed to traffic from 5-10am and Mowbray River Road until 1pm.
For details on these changes go to www. cairnsadventurefestival.com.au where you can view on line the maps outlining the diversion routes.
