Sorry Day ser­vice in Moss­man

A SER­VICE will be held to com­mem­o­rate Na­tional Sorry Day on Fri­day at Cairns Re­gional Coun­cil’s Moss­man ad­min­is­tra­tion build­ing.

The Cairns Re­gional Coun­cil is invit­ing both indige­nous and non-indige­nous mem­bers of the com­mu­nity to join in recog­ni­tion of the Stolen Gen­er­a­tion and the true spirit of rec­on­cil­i­a­tion.

Di­vi­sion 10 Coun­cil­lor Ju­lia Leu will be mak­ing an ad­dress and rais­ing the Abo­rig­i­nal flag with other com­mu­nity mem­bers.

“I would like to en­cour­age eve- ry­one to join us to mark this very im­por­tant day and cel­e­brate af­ter with morn­ing tea,” she said.

The ser­vice will start at 10am and will in­clude a Wel­come to Coun­try, guest speak­ers, flag-rais­ing cer­e­mony and a free morn­ing tea.
