Tour de Cure is a monster fundraiser

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

over $14,000 to the cause plus thousands of dollars worth of prizes to auction and raise funds.

I couldn’t be more proud of my friends and our amazing community.

Everyone really stepped up to the plate on this one and got right behind us and I can’t thank them enough.

Along the way, many people pulled up in cars offering donations and words of support.

One particular morning, an older lady pulled up alongside us at a rest stop, handed over $10, expressed her gratitude and told us she was currently going through chemotherapy.

I rode with tears behind my sunglasses for quite a while that morning.

With one in two people affected by this aggressive disease, next time you’re about to abuse a cyclist for holding you up on the road, keep in mind, they may be riding for you one day.

You can still donate to the Tour De Cure or find out more by visiting tourdecure.
