Assistance appreciated

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

THIS letter is to thank the various kind souls who came to assist us at the scene of the unfortunate bus tip over at Flames of the Forest on Friday night.

Immediately after the crash, many Flames of the Forest staff were on hand to assist the injured and shaken people as they escaped the bus by the back window and several continued to be in attendance until all the passengers were moved to either the Mossman hospital or to Cairns Base Hospital - or to their respective hotels.

We were thankful for their care and assistance.

The ambulance staff arrived and started assessing injuries and doing their wonderful job of re-assuring and assisting and despatching the injured to hospitals.

The firemen at the scene provided assistance and lights, blankets etc. and proceeded to do whatever they could to be of practical help.

Fortunately we had not experienced a scene like this before and hope never to do so again, but will have a greater respect for all the good folk who are trained for these situations.

Not quite the night we had planned but thanks to all who helped.
