LOCALS and visitors alike are invited to witness the spontaneous and witty dynamic game of Theatresports again this year.
Proudly presented by The Tropical North Theatre company and The Clink Theatre for the second year running, organisers are gearing up for a giggle packed evening.
Teams of four will duke it out in front of an audience and a panel of judges in a daring competition of improvisation and comedy in the ’Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ style of things.
Director of Tropical North Theatre Company Nicole Carnaby, said Theatresports was such a successful event last year that they decided to do it all again.
“The audience loved the raw comedy and the interaction with the performers,” she said.
Shaun Cram and Bruno Bennett will be judging teams on spontaneity, comic timing, ability to create stories and entertainment value.
TNTC endeavour to bring the community together.
“We bring local personalities such as Dave 00 Evans and Shaun Cram together with people from the theatre group and Mossman State High School with the aim of getting them up on the stage to perform in front of the community and give them valuable experience in acting,” she said.
With a variety of local businesses offering their services, prizes for winning teams will include restaurant vouchers and reef tours.
The Theatresports competition will be held on Saturday, June 9, at The Clink Theatre starting at 7:30pm.
Tickets for this laugh out loud event can be purchased prior to the show at Origin Espresso in Port Douglas, Goodies Café in Mossman, www. trybooking.com or at The Clink on the night. Cost $18 or $15 for members/ concession.
