Coral Coast Triathlon

Olympic distance

I competed in team events last year and enjoyed it so much I’ve been training for the last year.

I thought it would be a good warm up for Challenge Cairns on the 3rd June, to practise transitions and basically warm up.

Finishing second in Trail- blazer event (100km running event in Adelaide). Olympic distance

It’s a great local event and working as a local personal trainer, I thought I would inspire some of my clients. I watch it every year, and every year say “I’m going to do that”, so this year I am!

To complete the race, and hopefully within 3.30hrs.

I completed the half marathon held in Port Douglas in November, and did it in 1hr and 45 minutes.

Olympic distance Reason I am involved with the surf club and water safety, my friend and I thought it really should be something we do, so we’re doing it together.

To finish! Really enjoying the personal challenge and it’s great to have a friend to do it with.

Came third in my age group for the same event in 2007.

Olympic team distance, Alistair will perform swim, wife Olivia the run and friend Sue Whalen the bike run.

As an entrée to next week’s Iron man challenge! Also to support local events and local athletes.

This is a great warm up for Iron Man Challenge, which I hope to complete and do in a time of 11 - 11.5 hours. I’ve been training for 8 months and it’s been really intense.

Will be to complete the upcoming Iron Man Challenge.

Running the 10km run part of the team event.

To support local events, and to get fi t and active after having my baby 12 months ago. It’s great to have a goal to train towards.

To complete the 10kms in 60 minutes or less

I ran the 1km event in 62 minutes, 2 years ago - I’d love to beat that time. Olympic distance

To raise money and awareness for Douglasshire Community Services Association, who work with people with disabilities in their local communities and help others in need.

The average time for this event is 2 hours and 45 minutes, so I’d love to at least get this, or in fact beat this time.

I’ve completed smaller triathlons before, but I definitely think I am well prepared and fi t enough for this one. Doing it for fun.

To finish and build on last year’s performance.

Competing in the event last year.

I did a run, ride run earlier in the year and enjoyed it so much I thought I’d give a triathlon a go.

To finish! I aim to use this event as a stepping stone for

longer distances.

Becoming so focussed on training.

It’s a great local event and I always said I would do it.

To survive! More seriously, to finish in a decent time and be proud of myself.

Hopefully this will be my first coral coast of many!

I’ve never done a triathlon before. I thought it would be a good warm up for the half Iron Man challenge next week, where I am doing the 90km leg as part of a team. Complete the triathlon.

Will be to complete a Coral Coast triathlon.

The amazing sense of accomplishment.

I recently competed in an event of the same distance, I hope to beat my time and improve on my performance.
