THE Palates of Port bus accident involving 27 guests is still under investigation by the Cairns Forensic Crash Unit.
The Sun Palm transfer bus was driving towards Flames of the Forest in Mowbray about 7pm on May 18 when it rolled off the edge of the road and down an embankment where it tipped onto its side into a creek.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and checked out all 28 people on board the bus.
Three people were taken to Cairns Base Hospital with suspected fractured ribs and collarbones and several others transported to Mossman hospital with minor injuries.
Those who were hospitalised have since been released.
Several people on board the bus have told the Gazette the driver turned the lights off on approach to the function.
Event organisers have denied the bus driver turned the lights off.
Sergeant John Fischer has said it is still too early in the investigation to speculate on what happened.
