Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

WE HAVE been holidaying in Port Douglas once or twice a year for 12 years and know what a great holiday destination it is.

While there recently we read with great interest three editions of the Gazette, especially the “Revitalising Port Douglas” articles and would like to make a comment.

What disappoints us when talking to first time visitors to Port Douglas is how often we learn that their travel agent booked them to stay in Cairns for most or all of their visit to Far North Queensland and they express disappointment that their time in Port Douglas is so short, sometimes only a day visit.

Port Douglas needs to be promoted as “the Destination in Far North Queensland”. Too often it is just an “add-on”. We believe Port Douglas offers everything.

The challenge is to get that message across to travel agents both in Australia and overseas.
