Car­ni­vale golf swings away

MOSS­MAN Golf Club hosted the first round of the Car­ni­vale Golf Tour­na­ment and all mem­bers and vis­i­tors en­joyed the course which is in great con­di­tion.

Tues­day field was down, due to mem­bers com­pet­ing in the sec­ond day of the Car­ni­vale Golf Tour­na­ment.

The Four Ball Best Ball event was won by Leon Baker and Wayne Sox­smith with 40 points on a count-back to Barry Brims and Art Howard.

Third place was taken out by Don Dem­ler and Barry Rouse with 38 points.

Near­est the pins - Leon Baker on 10 and Lau­rie Prosser on 13.

JU­NIORS - The Club is host­ing free clin­ics each Tues­day 5pm - 6pm for young­sters aged 6 - 17 years., please call Ge­off Good­win for fur­ther de­tails on 0418 456 901.

The win­ner of Wed­nes­day’s nine hole event was Jeff Mur­ray with 20 points.

Thurs­day’s Ladies Stable­ford event was won by Bev Cowe with 36 points.

Sec­ond place was Tr­ish Landy with 30 points on a count-back to Gayle Healey.

Near­est the pins - Bev on 8 & 10 and Tr­ish on 13.

The Satur­day Men’s Stable­ford event was won by John Ziegler with 38 points. Sec­ond place Wayne Bax­ter with 37 points on a count-back to Matty Gray and Mau­rie Meth.

Near­est the pins - Art Howard on 8, Ian Mc­Dow­ell on 10 and T Mon­a­han on 17.

The Ladies Satur­day win­ner was Leonie Phillips with 33 points and run­ner up Judy McCor­mack with 31 points.

Near­est the pins - Shona Bar­bour and Kim Ed­wards.

A small field en­joyed the com­pe­ti­tion on Sun­day, and there were also lots of so­cial play­ers hav­ing a hit.

The win­ner of the Stable­ford event was Art Howard with 36 points on a count-back to Christie Bouwkamp.

Near­est the pins - Shona Bar­bour on 8 & 10, and John Cameron on 17.
