RRR put back until July due to rainfall

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - SPORT -

THE RRR Mountain Bike Challenge has now been postponed until July 8.

The decision was made yesterday following extensive consultation with the RRR Mountain Bike Challenge course director and in depth inspections of the course.

Following the heavy rainfall last week and the predicted rainfall forecast on Thursday and Friday, event organisers conducted a thorough course assessment which has revealed the trails remain inaccessible with flooded causeways and fast flowing creeks.

Participants who have already entered the event will have their registration automatically transferred to the new July 8 event date.

If participants are unable to attend the new event date they will receive a complimentary entry into the event next year.

All participants will be emailed with information regarding the date change and further information on the July 8 event will be available on our website www.cairnsadventurefestival.com.au in the coming days.
