Sprinting to give

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

I RECENTLY visited most businesses in Port Douglas and Mossman asking for a donation or sponsorship for the Coral Coast triathlon.

The money I raised was to go to The Douglas Shire Community Services Association Inc. - Lifestyle and Respite Support Services, situated in Mill St, Mossman.

The service works with families to support people with a disability to be an integral and active part of this community.

The response was amazing. Nearly every business I entered gave a donation, even in this difficult economic time. I managed to raise just under $1000. I completed the Olympic distance in 2 hours and 37 minutes, well below myand came second in my category.

A special thanks to my biggest sponsors Nigel at Mocha’s Pies, Andy at Bel Cibo and Raintrees Café. Community support at its best - thank you.
