Teen charged over stolen Jeep
A 19-YEAR-OLD Mossman man has been charged with several offences after stealing a $40,000 Jeep and setting it on fire.
The Jeep Wrangler was reported stolen in Port Douglas on the evening of May 7 from Peppers Beach Club on Davidson St.
The skeletal-remains of the burnt-out vehicle were discov- ered five-weeks later behind a cane field by a farmer off Mossman-Mount Molloy Rd in Cassowary.
The man was charged with stealing offences, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson and was held in custody last week before appearing in Cairns Magistrates’ court and released on bail to reappear at a later date.
