Wanna stay here forever

International travellers Maite George of France & Patricia Mach of Germany just can’t get enough of Port

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - TOURISM TALK -

Ihave been here almost two-months and am going to stay a couple of months more because I love this place. Last year I was in Cairns but I got a call from Watergate and came for work.

It’s beautiful, the people are nice, I love the coffees at Zai, there are good beaches and I have made heaps of friends.

The only negative is the flood, because I’m living in a tent at Dougie’s Backpackers and everything went mouldy and wet and the mosquitoes kill me as well.

Patricia and I met each other at Fremantle almost 3 months ago and she phoned from Melbourne and said ’ I’m bored and cold’ and I said sure, come join me in Port Douglas.

This is my first time in Port Douglas and I have been here one- and- ahalf weeks after leaving Melbourne where it was cold.

It’s really far to get here, it’s pretty nice and I haven’t left the hostel yet, I think the hostel Dougie’s is very nice.

Town is too far away and I hate the mosquitoes but I’m enjoying my time here in Port Douglas, it’s a cute, nice town and I leave on Wednesday but I’ll come back.”
