Operation Cold Snap
TOMORROW afternoon is the official start to the school holidays and to a state-wide police campaign targeting the fatal four.
Operation Cold Snap will see extra police on our roads, including the traffic branch and will target drink-driving, speeding, fatigue and bad driver behaviour including not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones while driving.
“There will be speed detection, breathtesting and driver revivers during the June-July school holidays,” Port Douglas Acting-Officerin-Charge Alan Dempsey said.
“Be aware that we will be on the roads in conjunction with the traffic department over that period, you’ve been warned.”
