A LAST minute score through hooker Jor­don Ca­nendo saw the Moss­man Port Dou­glas Sharks de­feat Ather­ton 34-32 on the week­end.

The Sharks are one step closer to mov­ing up the lad­der and are cur­rently in po­si­tion eight.

The team will have an­other chance at get­ting into the top five with a chal­leng­ing home game this week­end.

Robert Oui, Jor­don Ca­nendo, An­drew Gar­rett Jr, Harry Cobb, Troy Hilditch, Bron­son Ryan and Dar­ryl Light­ning all scored tries with Ryan scor­ing three goals.

The Sharks are ap­peal­ing for sup­port to back them this Satur­day on home turf at the Moss­man Show­grounds as they get ready to chal­lenge cur­rent lad­der leader’s Broth­ers.

Re­serves grade were not as lucky last week­end, los­ing to Ather­ton 38 - 32 and will have to win against Broth­ers for a fight­ing chance to reach the fi­nals.
