Zipangu moves to Port

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

“There’s a lot of people waiting for us here who asked when are we going to open in Port Douglas and we decided to move,” Mrs Iwagishi said.

“We like the lifestyle change and used to have lots of staff now we are just answering to ourselves, we are starting with only myself and my husband.

“Supply is difficult for us but still we can manage to do authentic Japanese food for the local people, we don’t do over-the-top prices, it’s more affordable for families.”

The shop is almost ready to open. Furnishings and decorations are being set up and the plan is to open next Wednesday.

Zipangu will be open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner, dine-in or takeaway and it is BYO until they receive their liquor licence when there will be lots of Japanese sake to enjoy with the authentic Japanese cuisine.
