Laven­der and Lace fundraiser at Hall

FAVOURITE fairy­tale char­ac­ters have come to life to host the an­nual Laven­der and Lace tea party this Satur­day. The Fairy­tale tea party will raise money for the Leukaemia Foun­da­tion Moss­man and District branch and money raised will go to­wards fur­nish­ing the units in Townsville and Bris­bane for pa­tients and fam­i­lies. Or­gan­iser Deb­o­rah Kachel said ev­ery­one is wel­come to come along and dress up as their favourite fairy­tale char­ac­ter - whether it is lit­tle red rid­ing hood or a big green ogre. “It should be lots of fun and we en­cour­age younger peo­ple and the older age groups to come along in fairy­tale char­ac­ter out­fits and we will be giv­ing out prizes,” she said. “It is be­ing themed by Ron Soren­son who has done some won­der­ful them­ing for us and it will be spec­tac­u­lar.” Doors open at 1pm this Satur­day at the Moss­man Shire Hall, ad­mis­sion is $5 adults and high school stu­dents, $3 pri­mary age stu­dents, there will be cent raf­fles, af­ter­noon tea, raf­fles and entertainment by the Port Dou­glas Academy of Per­form­ing Arts.
