Lavender and Lace fundraiser at Hall
FAVOURITE fairytale characters have come to life to host the annual Lavender and Lace tea party this Saturday. The Fairytale tea party will raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation Mossman and District branch and money raised will go towards furnishing the units in Townsville and Brisbane for patients and families. Organiser Deborah Kachel said everyone is welcome to come along and dress up as their favourite fairytale character - whether it is little red riding hood or a big green ogre. “It should be lots of fun and we encourage younger people and the older age groups to come along in fairytale character outfits and we will be giving out prizes,” she said. “It is being themed by Ron Sorenson who has done some wonderful theming for us and it will be spectacular.” Doors open at 1pm this Saturday at the Mossman Shire Hall, admission is $5 adults and high school students, $3 primary age students, there will be cent raffles, afternoon tea, raffles and entertainment by the Port Douglas Academy of Performing Arts.
