THE Under-11 Sharkies spent a great weekend at Townsville for the annual Laurie Spina Shield.

The team started as they have done all year slowly on a wet and cold day one.

After a great social night with family and friends, the Sharkies came out firing on day two beating Mackay Magpies and Herbert River Crushers to finish the competition four wins from six games to finish second in their pool, just one game away from the quarterfinal spot.

Coach Billy Adams would like to thank the Under 11 parents for fundraising and outstanding sideline support, with a special mention to Jenni, Tony Kadwell and Tess Walker who had organised the memorable weekend.

The boys’ attitude on and off the field did their families, themselves and the club proud.
