New name af­ter 118 years for co-op­er­a­tive

AF­TER 118 years trad­ing as the Moss­man Cen­tral Mill, a newly con­sti­tuted meet­ing has named the new busi­ness Moss­man Su­gar Co Lim­ited.

Chair­man of Moss­man Su­gar Co Lim­ited Bill Phillips-Turner said the newly formed com­pany came about af­ter a re­cent meet­ing of share­hold­ers.

“This new com­pany will own the bag­ging plant and we will continue to buy su­gar from Mackay Su­gar and pro­duce Dain­tree Gold and low GI su­gar,” Mr Phillips-Turner said.

“This will be the only re­tained busi­ness in Moss­man oper­at­ing un­der the Moss­man Su­gar Co Lim­ited ban­ner while Mackay Su­gar now owns and op­er­ates the Moss­man Cen­tral Mill.”
