New name after 118 years for co-operative
AFTER 118 years trading as the Mossman Central Mill, a newly constituted meeting has named the new business Mossman Sugar Co Limited.
Chairman of Mossman Sugar Co Limited Bill Phillips-Turner said the newly formed company came about after a recent meeting of shareholders.
“This new company will own the bagging plant and we will continue to buy sugar from Mackay Sugar and produce Daintree Gold and low GI sugar,” Mr Phillips-Turner said.
“This will be the only retained business in Mossman operating under the Mossman Sugar Co Limited banner while Mackay Sugar now owns and operates the Mossman Central Mill.”
