Zumba - tastic moves
MAKE your every move count and get along to the Zumbathon on Saturday at the Mossman Indoor Sports Centre to help raise money for a very worthy cause.
It is hoped that enough money will be raised so the Waqamate family can stay living in Mossman.
Following a recent tragedy, the family desperately wants to stay in Mossman but due to financial constraints they need help to stay.
Organisers of the Zumbathon, Jacquie and Lou, said the family was much loved within the community and it would be so sad if they had to leave.
“We have to try and at least help these guys, they really are terrific people and if you can come along and have some fun while raising some money that would be fantastic,” Lou said.
“And every cent raised will be going to the family - no monies will be deducted for any reason whatsoever. “So please come along and support the family.” There will be some great moves as Saskia Turner from Bodies in Motion will be giving some high-energy demonstrations that will be sure to get your own energy levels pumping.
As well as all the great dancing and zumba moves, there will be prizes for the best-dressed team, multidraw raffles, zumbatomic session for the kids, lucky door prizes, performances by Bodies in Motion dance school, a zumba “for all” class and the SES will be manning the food stalls to help raise money for the family too.
The zumbathon charity event that is guaranteed to pack a punch will be held this Saturday at the Mossman Indoor Sports Centre from 6pm until 9pm next door to the council office in Front St.
Tickets to this worthwhile event will be $10 for adults and $5 for students and children.
