Supermodel next step for local teen

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

SHE can sing, dance, act, play the guitar and now Mossman State High School Year 12 student Abbey White has extended her repertoire to include modelling.

The creative 17-year-old entered the Supermodel Australia competition and has made it to the regional finals for Cairns, which will be held on July 28 at the Shangri-La Hotel.

If she does win she could get up to $2500 worth of prizes but for Abbey, just trying something new is fun enough.

“I’m just going along for the ride and it gives me confidence to get through to the next round,” she said.

The finalists will present themselves in cocktail, swimwear, evening gowns and will be asked a question on stage and be judged on their personalities.

But Abbey is too busy to worry about nerves, currently in Brisbane for Creative Generation where she is dancing with the Port Douglas Academy of Performing Arts this weekend and auditioning for the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret.
