Picnic table donations

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

THE median strip in Nautilus Street is now blooming, which has only been achieved by the donation of plants and the great support from the local Council team. When did you last visit it? My request now is to ask anyone who can donate any picnic tables and garden seats to consider giving them so that locals and tourists alike can sit and enjoy the “icon“we have created.

In fact, Phil from Four Mile has already donated a picnic table and wood with supporting blocks for seating, and for this we are extremely grateful.

We live in a paradise. at her recent party. There was no mortified apology to her neighbours for ruining their sleep and impinging upon their right to quiet enjoyment of their properties. No acknowledgement that some people work long hours with early starts and may actually need more than a couple of hours sleep to function the next day. Just the righteous indignation of someone who thinks consideration of other people should not impede upon “a moment of celebration that can never be replaced”.

By her own admission she herself “cannot count the number of . . . nights” in which she has suffered the same inconvenience of “doof-doof” music.

Yet by her logic, she should be able to do the same. Suffice to say, this level of blinding selfishness does not make for a happy life in the suburbs.

Nobody enjoys ringing the police to try and get some sleep. Good on the police for doing something about it.
