St Augustine’s stage mini-olympics magic
ST AUGUSTINE’S students from Years 3 to 7 divided into seven countries to conduct their own mini-Olympics last Friday.
The students rotated between sports including rugby, gymnastics, hockey, fencing, netball, tennis and novelty events with an athletic theme.
As part of the project, the students also studied the countries Australia, China, Brazil, South Africa, Uganda, Mexico and Ireland to gain a better understanding of the Olympics before they began.
The Australian Sports Commission organised the event to encourage students to participate in sport.
The ASC runs active after-school centres at Goobidi, Mossman State School and St Augustine’s.
