BEING short on players did not stop the Mossman Under-9s team from playing a committed Ivanhoes team on Saturday and both sides fought hard to put on a solid display of football. With only a few players able to make the journey Mossman were always going to struggle for numbers but thanks to the Under-8s team, Mossman was able to put a team on the paddock. Mossman started off poorly by letting the Ivanhoe’s boys in for two quick tries but then started to get some rhythm.

Mossman put on two tries thanks to Mason and Braxton and were quickly back in the game. Ivanhoes caught on to our plan and started to play straight up the middle and scored another couple of tries.

Mossman then hit back with another two quick tries and were back in the match but at the final whistle it was the Ivanhoe’s team that won the day.

Man-of-the-Match award went to Leif Hatfield with a special mention to Jimmy, Michael, and Braxton. and Zeklyn Grogan-Ryan who put on some bruising front on tackles to shut down the Brothers late in the game.
