Learning bus in town

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

IF YOU need to update your work skills it might be time to jump onboard the “learning bus”, which has been in Port Douglas all week and rolls out tomorrow.

The Skilling Solutions Mobile Bus is a service that recognises prior learning and experience in the workplace to help people gain a formal qualification.

Skilling Solutions Queensland is the Queensland Government’s free training and career information service.

Dale McAuley, who operates the skills bus, urged anyone who wants to turn their workplace skills into a qualification to come on down to Mowbray St before tomorrow afternoon.

He can then refer you to a network of contracted training organisations to undertake a formal assessment of your skills against the chosen qualifications.

The process is called recognition of prior learning and it’s all about recognising the skills that you already have and obtaining a qualification in less time and at a reduced cost.

The decision could help you get a promotion, work in a different department or field.

If may also benefit those looking for a career change or keen to up-skill or re-enter the workforce.

To make an appointment call Dale on 0447 753 990.
