Call for unclaimed super
WITH nearly $250 million in superannuation unclaimed by Far North residents, financial institutions are urging people to check they have been paid all of their superannuation entitlements.
A report by Westpac Bank discovered the lost money and said it equals to $2836 per resident, which has come after a national figure of lost superannuation totalling $17.4 billion.
Superannuation is an investment for retirement and the national Westpac Lost Super Report suggest people need to track down their lost super, which is real money that will help in retirement.
The report found 45 per cent of Australians are likely to have lost superannuation and only 5.6 per cent know they have lost super.
