Clearing confusion

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

A BIG thank you to the Gazette for publicising our attitude to bureaucratic excess, although there appears to be some confusion.

We can assure all potential volunteers that currently there is no “51-page document” or “police check” required. We intend to keep it that way. We are in discussions with the Department of Health and Ageing and DOUGLAS Netball would like to thank the following sponsors for helping us out so far this year.

Sun Palm Express and Coral Reef Coaches each provide a bus every Tuesday to transport the junior netballers from Mossman to Port courts.

After the first week when we found we had more juniors than seats in the buses, Sun Palm came to the rescue and without hesitation upgraded from a 22 to 36-seater to transport all the players. Without such fantastic local support many juniors would not be able to play due to parents’ work schedules. A very big thank you. To canteen convenor Kerri Williams and John Stevenson who prepare all of the wonderful home-cooked meals for our “Healthy Canteen”, again we appreciate your time and effort in providing varied and nutritious delights each week.
