Students show sport­ing spirit

MOSS­MAN State Pri­mary School tested their skills, fit­ness lev­els and en­durance in their an­nual sports’ day last Fri­day.

The sun was out in full force, but this did not de­ter the ded­i­cated teams Jar­dine, Kennedy and Le­ich­hardt and as they bat­tled it out in the events which in­cluded high jump, long jump, run­ning, shot put and javelin.

Many par­ents and grand­par­ents came to sup­port the students as they ran, jumped, hopped, leaped and threw with all their might.

Age cham­pi­ons were Nathan Deu­ble, Al­lan Hart, Alan Gib­son, Melekai Wil­liams, Han­nah Baird, Shay­eema Henry, Kilda Kerr, Ethan Crees, Brax­ton Wienert, Saf­fron Brown and Flora Wailu.

House win­ners were Brehnan Bur­ford and Han­nah Baird and run­ner ups were Rean­non Walker and Tris­tan Stephen­son and Le­ich­hardt were the over­all win­ners of this year’s sports’ day.

Ev­ery pri­mary school in the Dou­glas re­gion will com­pete in this year’s in­ter-school, which will be on next Fri­day, Au­gust 10, at the Moss­man State High School oval.
