Spring cleanout

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

CAIRNS Libraries, including the one in Mossman, are doing a spring clean-up of members but have warned they will not be contacting members individually, after a recent phone scam attempt.

A library member in Cairns was asked to re-register their membership and was asked for their credit card number, which library staff and the Cairns Regional Council will never ask for, for any purpose.

As part of the clean-up, the libraries in the region will be removing memberships that have not been active for two years or more, so CRC encourage members to update their details if they do wish to be removed.

If you receive a call claiming to be from a library or council staff requesting credit card details, CRC urge people to record any details and contact police on 4087 1999, or crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
