Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

A foul-mouthed couple have learnt the hard way an off-duty police officer still has authority and not to disturb the rest of an officer trying to get his beauty sleep. Around 1am last Wednesday an off-duty officer was awoken by obscene language and swearing coming from the main street of Mossman and he attended and instructed the persons to move on. The 32-year-old Mossman man and 22-year-old Mossman woman proceeded to tell the officer he wasn’t in uniform and couldn’t tell them what to do, so the following morning the on-duty police officer issued the couple with notices to appear for public nuisance, going to court on October 24.
