Bright cruise ship fu­ture

Fol­low­ing on from re­cent famil vis­its by rep­re­sen­ta­tives of some of the world’s largest cruise ship com­pa­nies, the fu­ture of ship vis­its in Port Dou­glas is look­ing bright. Al­though cruise ship com­pa­nies are in the process of fi­nal­is­ing their sched­ules for 2014 there are al­ready 29 con­firmed vis­its to Port Dou­glas that year. If any­one in the re­gion would like to join the cruise ship vol­un­teer pro­gram and be the face of the re­gion, greet­ing vis­i­tors and pro­vid­ing a warm wel­come please contact Tara at TPDD on 4099 4588. This pro­gram is warmly re­ceived by vis­i­tors and makes a last­ing im­pres­sion of their visit to Port Dou­glas. Sea Princess will be stop­ping in on Oc­to­ber 23 af­ter leav­ing Bris­bane on its way to Dar­win, pas­sen­gers will be ea­ger to ex­pe­ri­ence all the re­gion has to of­fer. The cruise is part of a round Aus­tralia and New Zealand itin­er­ary with two days at sea ei­ther side of Port Dou­glas. With a pas­sen­ger ca­pac­ity of 2016 plus 850 crew Port Dou­glas is sure to be abuzz. Also a quick heads up for Dawn Princess on Novem­ber 13 and Pa­cific Dawn on Novem­ber 14 vis­it­ing the re­gion around the Eclipse.
