Bright cruise ship future
Following on from recent famil visits by representatives of some of the world’s largest cruise ship companies, the future of ship visits in Port Douglas is looking bright. Although cruise ship companies are in the process of finalising their schedules for 2014 there are already 29 confirmed visits to Port Douglas that year. If anyone in the region would like to join the cruise ship volunteer program and be the face of the region, greeting visitors and providing a warm welcome please contact Tara at TPDD on 4099 4588. This program is warmly received by visitors and makes a lasting impression of their visit to Port Douglas. Sea Princess will be stopping in on October 23 after leaving Brisbane on its way to Darwin, passengers will be eager to experience all the region has to offer. The cruise is part of a round Australia and New Zealand itinerary with two days at sea either side of Port Douglas. With a passenger capacity of 2016 plus 850 crew Port Douglas is sure to be abuzz. Also a quick heads up for Dawn Princess on November 13 and Pacific Dawn on November 14 visiting the region around the Eclipse.
