Moss­man Golf Club wishes to thank all those who par­tic­i­pated in the in­au­gu­ral “Chisel’s Fun Day” to make it such a great event. Thanks go to the Moss­man Branch of Cairns Hard­ware and Taub­mans Paints for spon­sor­ing the day, and the Legacy team who pro­vided great BBQ food throughout the day. All are wel­come to the Char­ity Day for Miallo State School on Sun­day. The cost is $35 per player for an Ambrose event in­clud­ing BBQ lunch.

Tues­day saw the sec­ond and fi­nal round of the Tues­day Cham­pi­onships.

The daily win­ner was Char­lie Mc­Sween with net 71 ahead of Gra­ham Cook with net 72 on a count-back to Phil Hol­loway and Greg Walker.

Near­est the pins - Greg on six, Brian “Boof” MacDon­ald on eight, Bruce Cheesman on 10, Wayne Dow­ell on 13 and Art Howard on 17.

The Tues­day Cham­pi­onship was won by Phil Hol­loway ahead of Mal Phillips and Ge­off Par­menter.

The Club is host­ing free ju­nior clin­ics each Tues­day 5pm - 6pm for young­sters aged six to 17 years. Please call Ge­off Good­win for fur­ther de­tails on 0418 456 901.

The win­ner of Wed­nes­day’s nine hole event was Fred Oakes with 23 points, ahead of Den­nis Blake with 22 points on a count-back to He­len Gabour and Rod Dono­van.

Near­est the pins was Fred on 17.

Thurs­day’s event was the sec­ond and fi­nal round of the Ladies Thurs­day Cham­pi­onships.

A mag­nif­i­cent round by Gayle Healey of net 63 pre­vailed on the day, sec­ond place Shona Bar­bour net 70 , Kerri-Lynn Wil­liams net 74 and Narelle John­son net 76.

Near­est the pins was Ker­riLynn on six, 10 & 13, Bev Cowe on eight and Gayle on 17.

The Thurs­day Cham­pi­onship was won by Gayle Healey and run­ner-up Shona Bar­bour.

The Fri­day Frolic (nine holes golf, shared mo­torised buggy and six pack in ice to share for $30 per player) was en­joyed by plenty of so­cial play­ers.

For play­ers with hand­i­caps, the com­pe­ti­tion was won by Sally Rea­son on a count-back to Peter Gray.

Satur­day’s Ambrose event was won by Daniel Coulthard, Matty Coulthard, Eli­jah Boon and Zac Hoare with a net 56 1/8th just edg­ing out Ge­off Good­win, Bren­don Wood, Hughie Collins and Irene Denholm.

In third place, John Cameron, Shona Bar­bour, Ge­off Par­menter and Ali­son Di­a­mond ahead of Judy McCor­mack, Daniel McCor­mack, Mark McCor­mack and Pris Free­man.

Near­est the pins was Ian “Pugs­ley” John­son on six, John Pether­bridge on eight, Jeff Bo­chow on ten, Daniel McCor­mack on 13 and Daniel Coulthard on 17.

Ladies Near­est the pins was Tr­ish Landy on eight, Patti Gra­ham on 10, Leonie Phillips on 13 and Ali­son Di­a­mond on 17.

A small field com­peted on Sun­day, and Sally Rea­son took home the voucher with 35 points on a count-back to Shona Bar­bour.
