Blues start win streak
THE Muddies Blues boys were keen to get down to Fuller Park and wrap the game up pretty quickly but Tully had different ideas and went about their batting in a patient and very determined matter.
David Johnson got the break through with a clean bowled to have Tully 2-30 after 15 overs.
A partnership of 37 was made before Sam Hodgson took his first wicket for the club and finished with figures of 1-28 off eight overs.
The next partnership put the Muddies blue to the test as Tully found the gap with well placed shots and offering no chances.
Al Canclaw for Tully made 54 but not before being hit by a number of balls, at one stage he had to be brought the chest guard to stop him from swatting the ball away from some great bowling by Adam Lucas.
David Johnson again making the breakthrough, clean bowling Canclaw for 54. This left Tully 4-140.
Vikas Chandra had his first spell of the season and bowled a controlled line and was unlucky not to get his first wicket of the season through an LBW that was not given. Chandra finished with figures 0-28 off 11.
Garry Postans took a great catch at short mid off from the bowling of Johnson to leave dangerous Dave with figures of 4-57 off 20 overs. Tully were now 5-140.
With the game in the balance Skipper Cody gave himself a chance with the ball and was smashed for 14 off his over with a huge six and he quickly removed himself from bowling to hand the ball back to Lucas.
Tully got the score needed to a run a ball with four over’s left before Lucas cleaned up the tail to finish with figures 4-37 off 19.4 overs.
Muddies Blue won the game by 11 runs and have won two from two. Man of the match taking three points was Lucas with Johnson picking up one point.
Muddies Blue will face the Mulgrave Tods at Fretwell Park in their next game.
