BEST-SELLING young adult author Carole Wilkinson will host a free workshop for eager readers and budding authors at the Mossman Library tomorrow.
The free interactive workshops in libraries and schools across the region mark the inaugural partnership between Tablelands Regional Council, Cassowary Coast Regional Council, Education Queensland and Cairns Regional Council and Catholic Education Queensland.
With over 20 published works, Carole’s most popular titles include The Dragonkeeper and the Ramose series.
“It’s great to get the opportunity to come and inspire children to read, learn and use their imagination, the children that attend always seem to eager to learn,” she said.
“I’m always inspired by the imagination of the children I meet on these workshops, It really makes me want to try harder and come up with new ideas.”
Mossman Library’s Lee Finkelstein encouraged everyone to come along and engage with their local library.
“To have a visiting author of this calibre is not only exciting in that children get to meet the author who writes the books they love to read, but hopefully it will encourage children to go out read more and start writing,” she said.
“We also want to promote the library as a place that still has a viable place in the community.”
The workshop will be held between 3.30pm-4.30pm and bookings are essential. Contact 4099 9496 to secure a spot.
