Case ad­journed for ev­i­dence

THE 30-YEAR- OLD man ac­cused of king-hit­ting a man on the foot­path in front of the Iron Bar in Au­gust has had his case ad­journed and will be call­ing on ev­i­dence.

Luke Vid­ito put in a guilty plea af­ter be­ing charged with the of­fence af­ter al­legedly punch­ing the vic­tim in the face once. The vic­tim fell and hit his head on the ground and re­ceived a frac­tured skull and bleed­ing to the brain.

Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Brad Hafner de­scribed the in­ci­dent from a sur­veil­lance tape and said the vic­tim showed no ag­gres­sion.

Mr Vid­ito’s lawyer Michael Bolt said his de­fen­dant was pro­voked by the vic­tim and said there was a ver­bal ar­gu­ment.

Mag­is­trate Braes ad­journed the mat­ter un­til Novem­ber 22.
